Step 1. Update to Advanced Sermons 3.0
In order to utilize the new taxonomy drag and drop ordering, you need to make sure your versions of Advanced Sermons are updated to the latest versions. For Advanced Sermons you should be running 3.0. For Advanced Sermons Pro you should be running 2.2.
Step 2. Enable Drag & Drop Order
After updating to the latest version, you will now see drag and drop icons on the Sermon Taxonomy pages. This will allow you to drag and drop the ordering of your taxonomies throughout your WordPress installation.
To activate this feature on the frontend, go to the Archive settings of Advanced Sermons.
You’ll find a new section called ‘Taxonomy Settings’. In this section, use the dropdown to choose the taxonomy you want to enable for ‘Drag & Drop’. After completing this action, the Taxonomy Order will become grey and default to ‘Ascend’, signifying that the highest taxonomy in your custom order will appear first on your website.
After customizing your settings to your preference, go ahead and hit ‘Save Changes’ to save your settings.
Step 3. How to Order Your Taxonomies
To drag and drop the order of your taxonomies that you have enabled in the previous step, navigate to the taxonomy from the WordPress dashboard. From here you can simply hover over the drag and drop icon and drop the taxonomies in the order of your choosing. Once you drop the taxonomy in the desired location, the plugin will automatically save its new position.
Adjust number of items per page
If you need to manage a large quantity of taxonomies, you may want to adjust the number of items displayed per page. This feature also allows you to move items to a new page.
To do this, go to the taxonomy page and select ‘Screen Options’ from the dropdown in the top right corner of the WordPress dashboard, located under the admin bar. This will open a dropdown where you can change the number of items displayed per page.
